This metaphor is too familiar. But, some are earlier than that.

But of the remainder, what can be said? They are for the most part an industrious people, forbearing and patient of injury, quiet and peaceable in their habits; say this and you have said all good that can be said of them. They are uncivilized, unclean, and filthy beyond all conception, without any of the higher domestic or social relations; lustful and sensual in their dispositions; every female is a prostitute of the basest order; the first words of English that they learn are terms of obscenity or profanity, and beyond this they care to learn no more.

6. Gaddafi's "genocide"
British commons select committees: Libya: Examination of intervention and collapse and the UK's future policy options

Quote:
32.Despite his rhetoric, the proposition that Muammar Gaddafi would have ordered the massacre of civilians in Benghazi was not supported by the available evidence. The Gaddafi regime had retaken towns from the rebels without attacking civilians in early February 2011. During fighting in Misrata, the hospital recorded 257 people killed and 949 people wounded in February and March 2011. Those casualties included 22 women and eight children. Libyan doctors told United Nations investigators that Tripoli’s morgues contained more than 200 corpses following fighting in late February 2011, of whom two were female. The disparity between male and female casualties suggested that Gaddafi regime forces targeted male combatants in a civil war and did not indiscriminately attack civilians. More widely, Muammar Gaddafi’s 40-year record of appalling human rights abuses did not include large-scale attacks on Libyan civilians.
...
37.Many Western policymakers genuinely believed that Muammar Gaddafi would have ordered his troops to massacre civilians in Benghazi, if those forces had been able to enter the city. However, while Muammar Gaddafi certainly threatened violence against those who took up arms against his rule, this did not necessarily translate into a threat to everyone in Benghazi. In short, the scale of the threat to civilians was presented with unjustified certainty. US intelligence officials reportedly described the intervention as “an intelligence-light decision”.

38.We have seen no evidence that the UK Government carried out a proper analysis of the nature of the rebellion in Libya. It may be that the UK Government was unable to analyse the nature of the rebellion in Libya due to incomplete intelligence and insufficient institutional insight and that it was caught up in events as they developed. It could not verify the actual threat to civilians posed by the Gaddafi regime; it selectively took elements of Muammar Gaddafi’s rhetoric at face value; and it failed to identify the militant Islamist extremist element in the rebellion. UK strategy was founded on erroneous assumptions and an incomplete understanding of the evidence.
...
42.The combat performance of rebel ground forces was enhanced by personnel and intelligence provided by states such as the UK, France, Turkey, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. For example, Lord Richards told us that the UK “had a few people embedded” with the rebel forces.
...
49.The UK’s intervention in Libya was reactive and did not comprise action in pursuit of a strategic objective. This meant that a limited intervention to protect civilians drifted into a policy of regime change by military means.

Quote:
Völker Europas, wahrt eure heiligsten Güter is a picture that the history painter Hermann Knackfuss made in 1895 based on a draft by Kaiser Wilhelm II as a gift from the German Kaiser to the Russian Tsar Nicholas II.

Archangel Michael (as the patron saint of the Germans) is depicted, surrounded by a number of valkyrie-like women who, as national allegories, symbolize the peoples of Europe (Germania, Britannia, etc.), pointing to a Buddha floating in dark thunderclouds over a European landscape from the east indicates.

With this allegorical painting, Wilhelm II wanted to call on European Christianity to fight together against the Yellow Peril and godless Buddhism.

"We need a strategy that protects the American economy, and indeed our way of life. The free world must triumph over this new tyranny."

If you are interested, here is a translation of the rest of the Wikipedia article, continuing from where yours left off:
Quote:
Kaiser Wilhelm II presented this portrait to the Russian Tsar with the request that he bring the influx from the East under control ("the menacing danger of a Chinese onslaught mobilized by Japan"). The Tsar was so pleased with the work, that the Kaiser could safely conclude: "It is gratifying that (the portrait) is so effective."

With regards to the female figures, they are, from right to left, the personifications of France (Marianne), Germany (Germania), Russia (Mother Russia), Austria-Hungary (Austria), Italy (Italia), and Great Britain (Britannia). The last figure on the left is unnamed.

Some years later, on July 27, 1900, Wilhelm gave his so-called "Hun Speech" (Hunnenrede). The occasion was the departure of the East Asian Expedition Corps (Ostasistisches Expeditionskorps) to the Boxer Rebellion, in which German and Christian missionaries were killed.

Western anti-Asian sentiment long predates communism or Japanese imperialism.

Not sure what the point of all this mining of Victorian era political artwork is.

But while you all are on the topic you might mention a certain book written in circa 1990 by the King of Thailand.

The book was a screed about how Chinese immigrants become ruthless merchants, and control the economies of all of southeast Asia including Thailand. He was aiming for a European audience of that time. So...guess what title he choose for his book about this supposedly money grubbing ethnic group that he resented?

"The Jews of the Orient"

So...Whites hate Asians. Chinese have always had contempt for all non Chinese and call them all 'barbarians', Asians fight other Asians, and White groups hate other White groups. So what's new?

The above Asian king invited Whites to join him in hating ethnic Chinese, and did so by...pandering to the endemic antisemitism of European Whites of the time. Lets all be bigots together! :D

"The Jews of the Orient"

Hatred towards ethnic Chinese in Southeast Asia triggered two genocides against ethnic Chinese in Indonesia, if not more. The last time was in 1999.
This part is also the reason why Singapore was forced to become independent from Malaysia.

Since the 21st century, ethnic Chinese have gained more respect in Southeast Asia after the PRC has gained more military strength.

However, I'm basically talking about history that echoes modern times in this thread.

华夷之辨 is no longer meaningful in modern China. After experiencing semi colonization, Republic of Five Ethnic Groups, the New Culture movement(Our language had been reformed according to English grammar), the Communist era ("suppress local nationalism, especially Han nationalism" as part of the constitution. Imagine that "suppress white nationalism" is part of the constitution of the United States or Australia.), and after the reform and opening up, crazy to further learn from the West.

Even in about 20 years ago (I mean, if they really disappear now), the trend of thought worships all non Chinese (and Chinese ethnic minorities). People are ashamed that they are pure Han, and proud to have non Han descent.

8. Leon Trotsky: Problem of the Ukraine (April 1939)

Quote:
The Ukrainian question, which many governments and many “socialists” and even “communists” have tried to forget or to relegate to the deep strongbox of history, has once again been placed on the order of the day and this time with redoubled force. The latest aggravation of the Ukrainian question is most intimately bound up with the degeneration of the Soviet Union and of the Comintern, the successes of fascism and the approach of the next imperialist war. Crucified by four states, the Ukraine now occupies in the fate of Europe the same position that was once occupied by Poland; with this difference – that world relations are now infinitely more tense and the tempos of development accelerated. The Ukrainian question is destined in the immediate future to play an enormous, role in the life of Europe. It was not for nothing that Hitler so noisily raised the question of creating a “Greater Ukraine,” and likewise it was not for nothing that he dropped this question with such stealthy haste.

A Question That Must Not Be Ignored

The Second International, expressing the interests of the labor bureaucracy and aristocracy of the imperialist states, completely ignored the Ukrainian question. Even its left wing did not pay the necessary attention to it. Suffice it to recall that Rosa Luxemburg, for all her brilliant intellect and genuinely revolutionary spirit, found it possible to declare that the Ukrainian question was the invention of a handful of intellectuals. This position left a deep imprint even upon the Polish Communist Party. The Ukrainian question was looked upon by the official leaders of the Polish section of the Comintern as an obstacle rather than a revolutionary problem. Hence the constant opportunist attempts to shy away from this question, to suppress it, to pass over it in silence, or to postpone it to an indefinite future.

The Bolshevik party, not without difficulty arid only gradually under the constant pressure of Lenin, was able to acquire a correct approach to the Ukrainian question. The right to self-determination, that is, to separation, was extended by Lenin equally to the Poles and to the Ukrainians. He did not recognize aristocratic nations. Every inclination to evade or postpone the problem of an oppressed nationality he regarded as a manifestation of Great Russian chauvinism.

After the conquest of power, a serious struggle took place in the party over the solving of the numerous national problems inherited from old Czarist Russia. In his capacity as People’s Commissar of Nationalities, Stalin invariably represented the most centralist and bureaucratic tendency. This evinced itself especially on the question of Georgia and on the question of the Ukraine. The correspondence dealing with these matters has remained unpublished to this day. We hope to publish a section of it – the very small section which is at our disposal. Every line of Lenin’s letters and proposals vibrates with an urge to accede as far as possible to those nationalities that have been oppressed in the past. In the proposals and declarations of Stalin, on the contrary, the tendency toward bureaucratic centralism was invariably pronounced. In order to guarantee “administrative needs,” i.e., the interests of the bureaucracy, the most legitimate claims of the oppressed nationalities were declared a manifestation of petty-bourgeois nationalism. All these symptoms could be observed as early as 1922-23. Since that time they have developed monstrously and have led to outright strangulation of any kind of independent national development of the peoples of the USSR.
