I did for a short time in 2009-10 when I was 45 years old. I previously became homeless due to my drinking. Blessedly that time is long in the rear vision mirror.

I was emancipated from both parents at 16 and have been on my own ever since. I have cousins on both sides who are in their 40's now who have never lived away from home. (3 of them. Male and Female. All NT as far as we know)

There parents are still alive even tho they(cousins) are both in their 40s?

yes, living to late 60's is not uncommon

There are two adult men on my block who both live with their patents. By my observation I would put both of them at over 30. Two (different) adults that I often see at church or at the library, brother and sister. They appear to live with mom who takes them to church. I would. place them at 30 or 35. Based on my oldest son’s current struggles with school and finding a job which pays enough to cover a one person apartment in our area, or lack of social skills needed to find a roommate - I now would be surprised if he moved out before 30. He doesn’t seem to want to.

People often live to over 60, 70, 80 or older.

I'll be brutally honest to say, that I live with my mom, as these days, I have limited resources, also my mom is no longer in the best of health these days.

I lived with my parents until I was 32. I didn't receive support as I was and am still on PWD.

I have lived either with my parents or with someone else taking care of things, for big chunks of my adult life.

Nope. And im really glad i dont. Im glad because i grew up in a dysfunctional environment and i don't wanna relive that. I'm fortunate to find an apartment that's affordable in an area I'm content with because at one point i was homeless. I can understand why people pass 30 would live with their parents though, as the cost of living can get pretty expensive depending where you live. Its just a matter of what kind of situation you're in I guess.

There are probably lots of reasons why adults live with their parents. The question for me is: does this matter for anyone else? I've done so for a few periods of a couple of months here and there. Other people have done so for a lot longer but at the end of the day, that is their business.

I will be 33 in just over three weeks and still live at home with my parents, but I will be moving out once my girlfriend moves here so we can have a home of our own.

I was living with my mom, cuz I wasn’t mentally ready to live on my own,I was in my 30s. In my 20s, me & my parents did go looking for apartments for me, I wanted to be ready, I thought it was normal moving out at 18, like I thought it was normal to go to college, meet a guy, have a career, get married & have kids. My parents found a condo for me, we were about to sign a lease then I got really scared, I continue living with my mom.

Yes because the Bay Area is too expensive. Making $125k per year still isn’t enough to buy my own home in the bay.

I'm 41 and I live with my parents. None of us have much money. We pool what we've got.
