Just for your own safety, Americans, do not come and live in England. It is quickly descending into a land of barbarians. Anyway, you'd probably be shipped off to Rwanda if you were seen as unwelcome.

However, Scotland hopes to become independent soon, so that could be an option. Scotland is a much better country.

i would make all the sanctimonious types grow their hair out and take recreational drugs and listen to urban contemporary music, as well as prance about nude and sow their wild oats on saturday nights, just to see them pray for crop failure on sunday morning.

Work permits get signed every day for foreigners to work jobs Canadians won’t do. That’s the easiest way to get one’s foot in the door.

Manual labour, farm labour, fast food/hospitality etc.

If someone’s goal is to move to Canada above all else they’ll find a way, even if it means digging ditches or hanging drywall etc.

As long as people are physically capable there’s work. Thing is that I think Most of the time employers that advertise jobs here and can’t fill them, and then get foreign worker permits etc, they already have a friend or family member in mind that they want to bring here vs fielding foreign applications. But some may accept foreign applications - especially for highly specialized tech or engineering jobs that require very specific knowledge and educations.

But there are ways for the determined to eventually make their way here even if it takes years.
